Peeks out from the hole in the oak
The tawny owl loves to build its nest in old oaks with lots of holes. In the daytime, it will sit half-asleep in the old oak. The smallest owl pellet in this diorama was coughed up by tawny owl.
With a bit of luck, you might hear the tawny owl in Uppland. From January to mid-April, you might hear its call by night, anywhere from Uppsala city to leafy forest groves.
Tawny owls remain in Uppland all year round.
