Common Teal (Eurasian Teal)
Latin: Anas crecca (Linné 1758)
Svenska: Kricka
Deutsch: Krickente
Small but quick
The Eurasian teal is the smallest duck in Europe, though it is very quick – it can fly faster than almost any other duck. These teals eat insects, small crustaceans, and aquatic plants.
Eurasian teals are found near water all over Uppland.
During the autumn, the teals migrate to Western Europe, normally returning in early April.
