Soft whistlers
You can tell there are Eurasian siskins about when you hear their soft whistling. There are about 30,000 pairs of these siskins throughout Uppland, and if you want to see some, head to a spruce forest. You might consider taking a stroll through Kronparken or Stadsskogen in Uppsala between March and November.
They migrate in September or October, or even as late as January, to Central and Southern Europe. Eurasian siskins return in March. Some years, a good number of siskins spend the winter in Uppland.
