The poser
The reed bunting shows his presence with a soft whistling. Look for the males in a willow bush or in the reeds… he will often sit there as if posing.
Reed buntings are common in areas with lots of shrubs and reeds. If you want to see a reed bunting, you should go to Övre Föret or Dalkarlskärret between April and August.
These birds migrate to the western Mediterranean from the middle of September to the end of November, returning in the end of March or April. Some reed buntings may also overwinter in Uppland.
