The chaffinch is Uppland’s most common bird. When they return after their winter holiday in Holland, they can be heard chirping in nearly every bush.
More than 800,000 chaffinch pairs nest in Uppland. There are more chaffinches than people in here! You have a good shot at seeing them in the City Forest (Stadsskogen).
Chaffinches migrate to Western Europe in October. The first birds return to Uppland in late March.
