Liverwort

Latin: Hepatica nobilis (Schreb.)
Svenska: Blåsippa
Deutsch: Leberblümchen

Carried by ants
The seeds of the liverwort have a special fat globule on them that ants love. The ants take the liverwort’s seeds to the anthills, but they drop a few on the way. These forgotten seeds can then grow into new liverwort plants.

Liverwort is common in deciduous and mixed forests all over Uppland, and blooms between April and June. It keeps its leaves in the winter, which often turn a reddish-purple colour.
