Mistle Thrush

Latin: Turdus viscivorus (Linné 1758)
Svenska: Dubbeltrast
Deutsch: Misteldrossel

The largest thrush
The mistle thrush is the largest thrush in Uppland. Here it’s a forest bird, but in England it’s common in gardens.

Mistle thrushes can be found in pine forests throughout Uppland, though they are not common.

They migrate in October to Central and Western Europe, returning in March or April. A small group of mistle thrushes spend the winter near Ådo and Lagnö in Mälaren every year, where these is mistletoe - something that mistle thrush gladly feeds on.
