Eurasian Treecreeper
Latin: Certhia familiaris (Linné 1758)
Svenska: Trädkrypare
Deutsch: Waldbaumläufer
Spiral up the tree!
The Eurasian treecreeper starts at the base of a tree and climbs upwards in a spiral, eating up all the insects and spiders it can find. When it comes to the top of the tree, it flies away, only to start again at the bottom of another tree!
Eurasian treecreepers are found in forests throughout Uppland. You can see them outside Biotopia in Vasaparken, or in the City Forest (Stadsskogen)!
These birds stay in Uppland year-round. 'Guests' from Finland and Russia arrive in the winter, but return home in the spring.
