Eurasian Pygmy Shrew
Latin: Sorex minutus (Zimmerman 1780)
Svenska: Dvärgnäbbmus
Deutsch: Zwergspitzmaus
A spider’s nightmare
The pygmy shrew is a five-centimeter long predator. For spiders, beetles and insect larvae, the last thing they see might be the shrew’s greedy mouth!
Pygmy shrews are found all over Uppland.
This shrew is active in the winter, and sometimes scurries around up on the snow.
