Dances with mosquitoesThe broad-billed sandpiper builds its nest in the vast boglands of Lappland. It is said that you'll find them where the swarms of mosquitoes are the most dense.
The closest nesting places of road-billed sandpipers are in Dalarna.
Some of these birds stop in Uppland every year. They pass by on their way northwards in May and early June, and on their way southwards in July through early September.
