Song Thrush
Latin: Turdus philomelos (Brehm 1831)
Svenska: Taltrast
Deutsch: Singdrossel
Hang-ups
When the song thrush sings, it always repeats the first part of the melody several times. Maybe it wants to make sure you're really listening? Sometimes it really sounds as if the thrush has gotten 'hung up'.
The song thrush is common in forests throughout Uppland. If you want to hear one, you should take an evening stroll through the City Forest (Stadsskogen) in the month of May.
Song thrushes migrate to southwestern and southern Europe in September and October, returning in early April.
